Today, cameos are favorite accessories that have brought great joy for jewelry makers and crafters. Cameos are rich in both color and images. You can find that they often associated with images of beautiful women, animals, angels, rose flowers, skulls, Zombi, human organs, geometric designs and other shapes. The material for cameos may also vary from seashell, coral, stones, resin, glass etc. All the integrated characteristics provide a border space of cameo jewelry design.

As resin is the most widely used new material on the market now, I have gathered a comprehensive resource of ways you can do with a resin cameo in this passage.

Firstly, let’s get to know some basic way to handle with cameo. Cameo jewelry making projects do not have to be difficult. In fact, you can make easy cameo bracelets and cameo necklaces with just a few supplies.

1. Find a flat setting for a cameo.

–You may find a flat setting that you like. A flat setting requires gluing your cameo in place because a flat setting doesn’t have prongs. Use a jeweler’s glue to set your cameo in place, making sure that the glue will not destroy or damage the cameo’s material.

Wire, chains or stringing material such as ribbon, all are decided by you.

2. Get the resin cameos drilled.
Resin cameos are easily drilled. You can drill a hole wherever you like for different purpose and effect. Drill holes at the bottom to add dangles or on each side to use as a centerpiece for beaded work. Drill a hole halfway in the cameo and then glue in a rhinestone or pearl.

Next, to make your cameo jewelry outstanding among others, try some different ways and make a change with the resin cameos.

1. Grind or sand or use a nail file and make into any shape you want.

–Grind the cameo into any shape you wish like squares or triangles.

–Sometimes measurements are not accurate and filing them down a little will fit the frame.

–Wire wrapping is a lot easier if you use a small drill to make a small notch on the side. It helps giving you something to hang onto when starting.

–You can also use the drill to remove some additional decorations you don’t want.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to altering cameos.Make your own mosaic pieces by cutting out the pieces of a cameo!

2. Repaint the cameos if you don’t like the original colors.

–You can make the resin any color, or make 2 or 3 (or more) colors for different parts of it. However, mixing colors sometimes resulted in unexpected effects. Well who knows it will definitely be a disaster? To make a set of zombie cameos is not a bad idea !

3. Make parts and pieces from a cameo use some other techniques.

Materials: Memoriy Wire, Beads Tools: Round Nose Pliers,Chain Nose Pliers,Bent Nose Pliers

Step 1 Start with your memory wire piece by making a loop on one side of the coil of wire.

Step 2 Rotate the pliers to make a loop. Tip: Memory wire is stiff metal and hard to bend. Try positioning the wire between your finger and the tool for stability and control.

Step3 String beads on your memory wire. Once you have strung all of your beads, cut your wire with a memory wire cutter to. Make sure to leave approximately a 1/2″.

Step 4 Grasp the end of the memory wire with your round nose pliers so the end of the wire is just showing.

Now, select the beads you like either stunning crystal beads , colored wood beads , flowery cacrylic beads or natural stone beads and get start to make your own design.

Still a very popular design with men, this type now comes in a variety of link sizes appropriate for women, and even children. Sizes range from a dainty 1.5-millimeter link size to a whopping 15-millimeters.

Herringbone chain is perhaps one of the most beautiful and popular chain styles. This chain is comprised of highly polished flat links connected in a herringbone pattern. No charms or pendants should be hung from this style of chain. Widths range from delicate 1.5-millimeters to hearty 11.5-millimeters and larger.

Marina chain has interlocking oval links whose width is bisected by a bar.

Rope chain is made of twisted oval links and spiral to create the appearance of woven and braided fibers. Rope chains come in a variety of diameters from 1.5 millimeter to a hearty 8 millimeters and beyond.Known for its strength, integrity, classic pattern, and simplicity, the rope family of chains is very popular. The finer weight chains can accommodate a small pendant or charm, but larger decorative pieces should be placed on those with a heartier weight.

Hi, jewelry beading fans. You know what’s a pearl knotting technology ? Yes, it’s one of the basic beading techniques which can add the classic look to your contemporary designs. It’s easy to learn, just follow me with the step by step beading instructions.

Firstly, get well prepared for all the materials and tools you may need for this project.

Materials: Waxed Cotton Cord,Beads,Jump rings,Bead Tips,Clasp

Tools:  Tweezers or Awl,Chain Nose Pliers,Sharp Scissors,Glue

All right, let’s begin!

Step 1 Make a simple knot at the end of your waxed cotton cord.

Step 2 Using a sharp pair of scissors, cut off the end of the waxed cotton cord.

Step 3 Put the knot into the bead tip.Make sure the knot should fit inside the bead tip.Add some glue into it.

Step 4 Using your chain nose pliers, gently close the bead tip over the knot.

Step 5 String a bead on the wax cotton cord.

Step 6 Make a loose simple knot.

Step 7 Insert the tweezers into the knot and grab the waxed cotton cord directly next to the bead.Slowly tighten the knot around the tips of the tweezers.

Step 8 Slide another bead onto the waxed cotton cord.

Step 9 Repeat Steps 5-8 until desired length.

Step 10 Using a sharp pair of scissors, cut off the end of the waxed cotton cord.

Step 11 Repeat steps 1 to 4.

Step 12 Add a jump ring to the bead tip.

Step 13 Hook a springring clasp to the jump ring.Using the tips of your chain nose pliers, gently close the hook of the bead tip.

Step 14 On the opposite side of your piece, hook a clasp to the clamshell bead tip. Gently close the hook of the clamshell bead tip with the tips of your chain nose pliers.

Step 15 Congratulations! You have learned how to make a pearl knotting!
