Head pins are essential for hanging earring making

Findings are the name given to the many small components that support, finish, and secure a piece of jewelry. 6, When you reach the point of being unable to roll your wrist any farther, without removing the plier from the loop, simply loosen your grip slightly and reposition the plier by rotating it back toward you. Grip the wire and continue to roll away from you until the end of the wire meets the other end of the loop.

Cabochons which come in different shapes and sizes can be made by many more materials, such as gemstones, glass, resin, wood, shell… among so many cabochons, resin cabochons are the hottest ones recently. Whether you want an eye-catching focal piece for your necklace or you want to adorn a bracelet, cabochons have many uses for any of your beading projects.

The first is to use a cabochon on to a ring. To beaded cabochons ring, you will need ring mountings, either one that has prongs or one that has a flat mounting onto which you could set the cabochon with an adhesive. If you choose the ring mountings that have prongs, you will also need special pliers to close the prongs. You can use regular round nose pliers, but the cabochon may not be mounted and secured properly. Make sure that the cabochon is the same size as the mount on the ring. Open the prongs, place the cabochon onto the mount using tweezers, and use your pliers to close the prongs snugly, but not too tight, since you do not want the cabochon to break. Some ring mounts require adhesives, usually the ones without prongs. If you choose ring mountings that have not prongs, you will need to purchase an adhesive from jewelry supplies store, apply a drop of adhesive to the back of the cabochons and on to the mount. Place the cabochon onto the mount with your tweezers, and blow on it to dry.

Magnetic clasps work using magnetic charges. One side of the clasp has a positive charge which attracts and holds the negative charge on the other side of the clasp.

Lobster claw clasps are secure clasps which are a popular for necklaces, bracelets and anklets. This type of clasp has a tiny spring in its mechanism. This keeps the arm closed until you push on the lever. These are somewhat easier to open and close by yourself than a spring ring clasp.

Spring ring clasps open when you push a little lever which slides along a circular ring backwards. Once the clasp is open, you simply insert the loop attached to the other side of jewelry into the open circle. The larger the loop, the easier it is to work with this clasp. After the loop is inside the circle, release the lever to return it to the closed position. A tiny spring mechanism inside the clasp keeps the spring ring shut until you need to open it again.

Beading or the handmade jewelry is a great hobby for all ages because you can start simple and learn as you go. It is as easy as selecting a few jewelry beads and stringing the beads on stretch cord and tying a knot. I am also a beading lover, and today I will share with you why I love beading so much.

First of all, jewelry is such huge part of pulling an outfit together in the fashion world. It can take something as plain as a t-shirt, jeans, and flats, and turn it onto something that's really trendy and eye catching. I'm attracted to all the different shapes and colors in beads, in combination with the colors and textures of clothes.

Another reason I enjoy making beaded jewelry is that it's a great way to give gifts. Last Christmas, I made all of my friends and loved ones a piece of jewelry that they cherished forever. There's nothing that makes me happier than seeing the reactions on their faces when they pull out a necklace or bracelet that was designed just for them.

One more reason is the low cost of handmade jewelry. Whenever I used to go shopping for jewelry, one piece such as a necklace or bracelet could clear my whole wallet.
